This song is Debbie Friedman's who tragically died far too young in early 2011. I try not to forget that Debbie played a big role in bringing popular and folk music into Jewish institutions and has really enabled me to have the career that I do - for which I am eternally grateful. This song is often associated with Chanukah as it is the subject of the haftorah that is read at this time of year to remind us: "Not by Might and not by power but Spirit alone (Ruach) shall we all live in peace." May Debbie's spirit be with us this Chanukah.
